WE HAVE RETURNED FROM OUR ALASKAN ADVENTURE! After an initial set-back involving the car, the travel trailer, and an unhappy Sophie, we left Oklahoma City on August 17 for Alaska. Twenty four days and 7,783 miles later we pulled back into the driveway.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN . . .
Willy got it right! We're back on the road again! This time it's just Joan and me sans Sophie; sans trailer. (We do miss Sophie.) We're headed West. Spending the night in a small KOA cabin in Amarillo, TX. I-40 pretty much parallels old Rte 66. But a heck of a lot smoother going than what the depression-era Okies had to contend with. The terrain might be the same. But everything else is up-to-date and convenient for traveling west.
Tomorrow we're headed for Gallup, NM.
